Summary

This biography features an exciting account of the life and career of Tony Hawk, the world's most famous skateboarder, including his early days as a young skater in the seventies, his rise to skateboarding superstardom, and the incredible trick he landed at the 2003 X Games.

Not only is Tony Hawk the most famous figure in skateboarding, but he is also largely responsible for the international popularity and credibility of what had long been considered merely an activity for outsiders and rebellious youth. He stayed with skateboarding through its many boom-and-bust cycles and established his dominance in the sport by completing the ultimate skateboarding feat, the 900, at the 1999 Summer X Games. Known for his clean image and good nature, Hawk is also a successful businessman, with video games, skateboards, films, and a popular sports road show—the Boom Boom Huck Jam—to his credit.
